StandUp Blue Springs Princess Party – Save the Date!

by Jeff Quibell 1. March 2010 10:57

Please SAVE THE DATE:  StandUp Blue Springs’ annual Princess Party to benefit Dental for Kids will be held Saturday, Oct 2, 2010 at Valley View High School in Blue Springs.  We need 200 volunteers and many donors, so please commit today to assisting with planning, fundraising, Friday set up and/or the Saturday event.

The Princess Party is held on the same weekend as this year’s Wall That Heals.  Please consider supporting both events in some way.  We realize it will be a busy week, but StandUp anticipates more than 700 little girls and their adult royal companions to join us for the Princess Party, which requires 2 days’ set-up, 200 volunteers and a two-story castle façade!  While we are not competing for the same “audience,” we will both draw adult and student volunteers from the Blue Springs community.  Both are worthwhile events; we hope you can support both.

NEW Disc Golf Course is nearing completion.  The course will be a co-host location for a May 23rd & 24th tournament in conjuction with Lee's Summit Disc Golf Course, the first collabortion between the two departments.

June 6th is the date set for the dedication of the walking trail at Greg Grounds Park.  The trail is already seeing lots of use!

Roscoe also gave an update on "The Wall That Heals" exhibit that will take place at Pink Hill Park from September 30th to October 3rd, 2010.  This will be a huge community event that will require many volunteers- a great opportunity for your civic organization to be involved in a great community-wide activity!

The Roundtable meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month.  You are invited to attend and share your group's activities and discuss relevant community issues!

If you would like to share information through The Roundtable, you may either bring that information to a scheduled meeting or email your communication to me at bessmann@adamspointecc.com.  I will be glad to share that information with the group and via email.

Sincerely,
