City Council Meeting - May 19, 2008

by Jeff Quibell 20. May 2008 14:28

For those of you who wanted to watch last night's council meeting, there were technical difficulties.  Following is a memo from the city regarding the problems for your reference:

Good Morning Mayor Ross and Members of City Council,

The purpose of this email is to inform you of the technical difficulties experienced during last night’s City Council meeting. Due to inclement weather conditions over the last two weeks, damaged outdoor receptor equipment prevented successful broadcasting of a portion of the meeting.

Currently, we are working with equipment contractors to retain any audio and/or video portions of the meeting that were successfully recorded. We believe that we do have full audio coverage of the entire meeting and are working to get the audio only linked to the City’s website.

In the event the audio broadcast does because available, residents will be able to listen to the entire broadcast online, without however, any visual video feed. You will receive additional email communication from me when this has been completed.

Please know that staff has implemented and continues to exercise every precautionary and pre-meeting assessment measure possible to ensure such issues don’t happen.  In the next few weeks, staff will be revisiting and strengthening this protocol to limit the occurrence of such malfunctions, man-made or otherwise.

Should you receive any calls and/or comments from constituents regarding this issue, I fully offer myself as a resource by which to address these concerns. Thank you again for time and consideration.

Regards,

Merideth Parrish
