New businesses continue to locate in Blue Springs

The next time you drive by the Adams Dairy Landing project, you will see the foundation and floor have been poured for the new Target store. It is great to see continued progress on our new shopping center!

On the north end of town, preparation has begun for the demolition of the old Food Barn building at Duncan and Missouri 7. It is great to see this long-vacant building will finally be removed, making room for new development at this important intersection. In addition, the old Interstate Inn at Woods Chapel and Interstate 70 has been demolished, paving the way for parking for the newly refurbished La Quinta Inn.

Please join me in welcoming several new businesses. Harley Hotrods Bar & Grill will fill a vacant building just north of Blue Springs Fitness on Missouri 7, across from Price Chopper. Two new locally owned jewelry stores have recently opened. Set N Stones, a full-service jewelry store owned by Tony & Kaci Barreto, recently opened next to Lamar Doughnuts on Missouri 7. Then & Now Jewelry, owned by Karl & Bridget Doescher, also opened in the shopping mall just south of Applebee’s and next to the Trouser Mouse. It offers jewelry repair, sterling silver, watch batteries, insurance appraisals, and custom design and remounts.

Even in these difficult economic times, business owners and entrepreneurs continue to choose to operate in our city. By shopping locally, you show our business owners that you appreciate their decision to locate in our wonderful city!
